Micil Distillery is Galway’s first distillery to open its doors in over 100 years. It’s headed up by Pádraic Ó Griallais, a 6th generation distiller passionately continuing a 170 year old family tradition. Micil produce a range of poitín products made from 100% Irish grain, an award-winning Micil Gin made using local Connemara botanicals and are now starting their whiskey journey. Café Linnalla is based on the farm of Roger and Brid and uses the milk from its shorthorn cows to make its farm fresh ice cream which it serves in the café. Roger will walk with you to the farmyard where the cows and calves can be seen and will give you some information on farming in the Burren and the challenges he faces and the farming methods he has adopted to suit his farm. It is then back to Café Linnalla for a drink and a large scoop of ice cream, made fresh from the milk of the cows you have seen.

Take a guided tour of Hazel Mountain’s bean to bar chocolate factory which is located just across Galway Bay in Bellharbour, Co. Clare. Meet their chocolate experts who will tell you all about how they turn the humble cocoa bean into delicious, award-winning chocolate.
Tours are 45 minutes and will take you through all the stages of chocolate making - roasting, cracking, winnowing, stone-grinding and tempering.
